2025 Austin Learning Circle

Sometimes, I get weary of all the hype and grandiose promises in the personal development world that tout immediate, drastic, earth-shattering, life-changing breakthroughs.

Change happens all the time. Sometimes it’s easy or gentle. Sometimes change is messy or imperfect and is a process over time. It’s not always a lightning strike with clean edges.

Gentle, gradual change isn’t as flashy (or as noticeable!) as Big Important Breakthroughs. But I think gentle, gradual change can last longer and is often easier on the changee. I also think Big Important Breakthroughs cast equally big psychological shadows that can cause problems for the person making the changes.

So even though it’s not as sexy and doesn’t call for as many exclamation points as a Big Important Breakthrough!!!, I’d like to put some attention on this type of gentle, gradual change.

On Sunday, February 2, I’ll be doing a modeling interview with a friend about their experience of gentle insight and gradual change. If it’s interest, please join. We’ll also have time to break up into small groups and model each others’ experiences of change. Who knows what bigger patterns and insights might emerge from us sharing what we learn and notice?

If you’re new:
If you don’t know anything about conversational modeling or it’s been a long time, you’ll probably enjoy the demo conversation. I’ll also provide some modeling questions and reminders so that it’s easy for you to participate when we break out into smaller groups.

If you’re experienced:
If you’re familiar with NLP modeling ala David Gordon and Mike Bown, the questions and approach will be familiar and you may have your own added perspectives to add to the mix.
